ZYP Men’s Health & TRT Disclaimer
ZYP Medical, LLC offers comprehensive Men's Health services, including Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT), with the goal of improving quality of life, hormonal balance, and overall well-being. However, patients must understand that TRT involves both risks and benefits, and is not appropriate for all individuals.
Medical Evaluation and Off-Label Use
TRT is prescribed only after a thorough evaluation of clinical symptoms and laboratory findings. In certain cases, testosterone or related medications may be prescribed off-label for patients who do not meet traditional diagnostic thresholds but demonstrate symptoms consistent with testosterone deficiency. This off-label use will be clearly discussed with the patient, and informed consent will be required.
ZYP Medical and its affiliated providers reserve the right to determine candidacy for treatment based on clinical judgment, even in the absence of guideline-based diagnostic criteria.
Risks and Benefits of Testosterone Therapy
Potential Benefits:
Improved energy, mood, and mental clarity
Increased muscle mass and strength
Enhanced libido and sexual performance
Reduction in fat mass
Better bone density and physical performance
Potential Risks:
Increased red blood cell count (polycythemia), which may raise the risk of blood clots or stroke
Suppression of natural testosterone production
Decreased fertility or testicular shrinkage
Acne, oily skin, hair loss
Breast tissue changes (gynecomastia)
Mood swings, aggression, or irritability
Prostate-related concerns (although TRT has not been shown to increase prostate cancer risk, monitoring is essential)
Fertility Considerations
TRT may suppress sperm production and reduce fertility. If fertility preservation is a priority, ZYP providers will discuss options such as HCG, Clomiphene (Clomid), or alternative protocols to help maintain testicular function and sperm production. Patients should disclose their reproductive goals during the initial consultation.
Natural Testosterone Support
ZYP Medical supports natural interventions as a first-line approach when appropriate. These may include:
Lifestyle changes (e.g., improved sleep, diet, exercise, weight loss)
Reducing alcohol intake and stress
Managing comorbidities (e.g., sleep apnea, metabolic syndrome)
Patients are encouraged to explore these options either as an alternative or in conjunction with TRT.
Ongoing Monitoring Requirements
TRT patients must agree to routine lab monitoring, which includes but is not limited to:
Total and Free Testosterone
Estradiol (E2)
CBC (for hematocrit/hemoglobin)
PSA (if over 40 or with prostate history)
SHBG, LH, FSH as needed
If labs reveal abnormalities, such as elevated hematocrit (Hct), treatment may be paused. ZYP may require patients to donate blood (therapeutic phlebotomy) before resuming therapy. No medication refills will be given until lab values return to a safe and acceptable range.
Abuse, Diversion, and Right to Refuse Treatment
TRT medications are controlled substances. Any suspected misuse, abuse, or diversion (including but not limited to taking more than prescribed, sharing medication, or failing to follow monitoring protocols) will result in immediate discontinuation of services and medication refills. ZYP reserves the right to refuse or terminate treatment at any time based on clinical safety, noncompliance, or inappropriate conduct.

By engaging with ZYP Medical’s Men’s Health services, patients acknowledge that they:

Accept that ZYP Medical retains the right to pause or discontinue therapy for safety reasons
